Charles Bradford “Brad” Bynum, age 54, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022. A service honoring the Life of Brad, will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS with interment at Crestview Memorial Gardens with military funeral rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and 12:00-1:00 pm Wednesday just prior to the services.
Brad was born in 1968, in Oxford, MS to Charles Wesley Bynum and Gloria Jean Shepherd Bynum. He was married to Dana Delbouno Bynum. Brad was a graduate of Oak Grove High School, Class of 1986 and from the University of Southern Mississippi, Class of 1999. Brad was a member of Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, hiker, sky diver, expert marksman along with many other hobbies. He proudly served and retired after 26 years of service in the United States Army. During this time, he received two Bronze Stars; three Meritorious Service Medals; Combat Infantryman’s Badge; Special Forces Tab; Ranger Tab; Master Parachute Badge; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Foreign Parachute Badges from Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, and Ecuador; the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold) as well as many other awards and decorations.
Brad is survived by his wife of 21 years, Dana Delbouno Bynum; Children, Hanna and Chad Bynum; parents, Charles and Gloria Bynum; brother, Stan Bynum (Amy); sister, Jill Ward (Marty); father and mother-in-law, Martin and Diane Delbouno; and many nieces and a nephew.
