Dean Cowart

Dean Everett Cowart, 88, of Brandon passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, in Baton Rouge, LA.

A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 11:00am from Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon with visitation starting at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery. Dr. Rick Henson will be officiating.

Dean was born January 19, 1933, in Sumrall, MS to the late George Marvin Everett and Minnie Viola Hollingsworth Everett.

She was the youngest of 12 children and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Dean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Dean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Franz L. Cowart; and all her siblings.

Dean is survived by her children, Pamela Cowart (Douglas) Irvin, Franz Larry Cowart, and Joe Marlin (Dallas) Cowart; grandchildren, Douglas Courtney Irvin, Shane Adison Irvin, Jenny Cowart Hunt, Tamara Cowart Pitts, Shelby Cowart, and Lindsey Cowart; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Hunt Richardson, Gavin Patrick Irvin, Claire Margaret Irvin, Benjamin Parker Irvin, Grant Douglas Irvin, Garrett Hunt and Hayes Hunt; great-great-grandchild, Marley Richardson; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
