George Edward “Eddie” Barnes, Jr. , age 63, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation is today, Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 9 until 10 am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. Funeral Services are 10 am from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
Eddie was born on August 4, 1951 in Jackson, MS to the late George E. Barnes, Sr and Laverne Young Barnes. Eddie loved reading and listening to music. His dad was a retired Jackson Fireman, and Eddie had strong ties to the fire department. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Richland, MS.
He was preceded in death by his father, George E. “Digger” Barnes, Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Laverne Barnes; his sisters, Janet Barnes Bush (Robby), Nancy Barnes Ghafarianpoor (Moody), and Huong Phan Edmondson (Neal); nieces and nephews, Stephen Paul Bush, Leah Bush White (Kory), Robert Daniel Bush, Mitra Ghafarianpoor, Mina Ghafarianpoor, Anna Edmondson, and Alex Edmondson; and great nieces, Lillian Rogers, Leila Bush, and Andrea Michelle White.
