On December 11, 2022, at approximately 11pm, Marion Roy Stewart 80, went home to be with the Lord. He was born on Dec. 29, 1941, in the Midway Community, in Rankin County where he lived until three years of age. His family then relocated to the edge of Scott County, to the Branch Community, where he grew up, built his home, and raised a family of his own.
Mr. Stewart was a lifelong member of Holmes Assembly Church, where he served as a deacon for many years and even filled in as pastor at times. He married his wife of 46 yrs, Lois Parker Stewart on January 16, 1965, whom he later had three children with. He loved his family dearly. He worked at BC Rogers then Koch foods for 42 years before retiring. He was well known in the community and found a friend everywhere he went. He loved the Lord very much and it showed greatly in the way he lived his life and raised his children. He was well known for bringing people, sometimes multiple people with him to Gods house and then often inviting them back to his home afterwards, where they would enjoy a nice meal before taking them back home. He would often fill in and preach at various churches. One, Macintosh, Alabama., where his brother pastored for many years. They consider the Stewart’s family around there.
Mr. Stewart had a love for people and was always willing and eager to help a fellow man wherever and whenever he possibly could. Nothing could brighten his day more, well except perhaps a hot cup of coffee or two and some fried fish. Lol
It would take all day to tell of all the things that made Mr. Roy Stewart the wonderful man he was. He was most definitely loved and will be missed by so many. Until they can hopefully one day be together again.
