Aileen Garrard, 91, passed away Sunday June 1, 2014 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2014 from 10am-10:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am Tuesday June 3, 2014 at the funeral home with a family graveside service following at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus, MS.

Mrs. Garrard was born in Guin, AL and was a longtime resident of the Jackson Metro Area where she was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and more recently Pinelake Church in Brandon, MS. Mrs. Garrard graduated in 1942 from Marion County High School in Guin, AL. She served her country in the United States Coast Guard during WWII where she was stationed in Washington, DC. During that time she marched in the funeral procession for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and married her loving husband, James Edwin Garrard Sr. who was also serving in the military. After the war, Mrs. Garrard was a house wife for 30 years and raised her children as well. She was also an employee for Maison Weiss for 30 years until her retirement at the age of 81.

Mrs. Garrard is survived by her three children, Pat Morton (Bayless), Jim Garrard (Linda) and Mike Garrard (Tricia); one brother, B.D. Caudle (Dean) and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Garrard Sr. and a brother, Larry Caudle.

A special thanks from the family goes to her primary care giver and friend, Alice Lewis and also to Beverly and Christie Rimmer for their loving support and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinelake Care Center at 6071 Mississippi 25 Brandon, MS 39047.
