Aleen J. Maxey, 92, of Lake died Wednesday November 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest following an extended illness.
Visitation was held Thursday November 15, 2012 beginning at 12pm at her residence. Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Friday November 16, 2012 at Salem Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Larry Duncan officiated.
Mrs. Maxey was a lifelong resident of Scott County, and member of Salem Baptist Church. Her life was dedicated to her family. She was born August 19, 1920 to Ross Sistrunk and Dolly Rogers Sistrunk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son Harold Maxey, brothers Edward Sistrunk, Harvey Sistrunk, LaVeren Sistrunk,; sisters, Elois S. Arinder, Ruth S. Monk.
Mrs. Maxey is survived by four children, Donald Maxey, Jimmy Maxey, Eva Tolbert (David) and Brenda Johnson (Paul) all of Lake. She is also survived by on sister Rena Hill of Forest and 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kevin Belk, Nolan Stroud, Joe Tolbert, John Wayne Tolbert, Tyler Stewart and Danny Ware.
