Alene Styron

Alene Dukes Styron, age 84, of Braxton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2019 at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood.

Funeral Services will be 1:00pm Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Cato Baptist Church with Dr. Clarence Young, Dr. Ricky Gray, and Rev. Don Lum officiating. Interment will follow in Ross Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon and again Saturday at the church from 12:00pm-12:45pm.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Styron, Brian Styron, Kyle Patrick, Heath Spears, Payton Spears, Eric Ferren, Jared Martin, Blake Easterling, and Jake Vanderford.

Alene was born to the late Brantley Dukes and Ora Arender Dukes on September 23, 1934 in Smith County, MS. She was a member of Cato Baptist Church and a Homemaker who put her family before herself.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Eric Styron; and brother, J.B. Dukes.

Alene is survived by her husband of 64 years, Billy E. Styron, Sr; four children, Bill Styron, Jr. (Lynda), Gail Patrick (Andy), Joe Styron (Janet), George Styron (Janet); siblings, Robert Dukes, Geraldine Roberts, Carol Duke, Shirley Lewis, and Libby Bellah; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cato Baptist Church Youth Fund.
