Alfred Eugene “Gene” Kullman, Sr., 67, met his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be 5 pm until 7 pm today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 1 pm Thursday, September 15, 2011 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial in New Brandon Cemetery.

Gene was born January 11, 1944, in Birmingham, AL. He married Joyce Ashworth May 24, 1963. He served in the 4th Marine Division Reserve from 1962 to 1968. He served on the Board of directors of Rankin County Boys Club and was a Shriner and member of the Royal Order of Jesters. He influenced many lives with his caring and giving attitude.

Gene was employed by General Tank Company of Birmingham, AL. He then worked for Piping and Equipment, Inc. He transferred to Jackson, MS in December, 1975 to open a branch office for the company. He started his own business, American Supply Company in 1986.

Mr. Kullman was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry Mason Kullman and Clara Sue Berryman and his brother Charles Henry Kullman.

His children and grandchildren were always his “heart” and he will be missed greatly by them. Survivors include his beloved wife, Joyce; his son, A. E. “Sonny” Kullman, Jr. and his wife, Rachel of Flowood; his daughter, Jennifer Johnston and her husband, Ricky of Brandon; and eight grandchildren, Katy Wilson, Mary Grace Kullman, Amber Leigh Johnston, Claire Kullman, Callie Johnston, Hope Kullman, Holly Kullman and Caden Johnston.

The family wishes to express its deep appreciation to Dr. Justin Baker and his very special nursing staff, Baptist Medical Center Admitting, Radiology and Transport Departments.

The family request that memorials be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the charity of your choice.
