Alice Watkins

Alice Idell Watkins, age 85, died Sunday May 7, 2017 in Carthage following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted  on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from the McDonald Baptist Church in the Good Hope community with interment in the church cemetery.  Rev. Keith Mangrum officiated.   Visitation was held from 5pm-8pm Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Ott & lee Funeral Home in Forest.

Mrs. Watkins was born on Wednesday, December 23, 1931 in Scott County .    She was a member of the McDonald Baptist Church in Leake County.  She loved her family and always enjoyed visiting with friends.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roosevelt Kyzar and Della Broom Kyzar;  husband Carleton Watkins,  daughter Diane Thomas, son Bobby Holmes, brothers;Houston Kyzar, Howard Kyzar, Junior Kyzar, Dudley Kyzar  and a sister Betty Fisher.

Survivors include her son Sammy  C. Holmes of Lena,  2 brothers; Roger Dale Kyzar of Harperville and Billy Ray Kyzar of  Walnut Grove.  She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tim Thomas, Mike Holmes, John Thomas, Jamie Holmes, Curtis Holmes and Timmy Dennis.
