Alice Geraldeen Moore Short, 78, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. There will be no visitation and services will be private.

Alice was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many. She was selfless and had a heart as big as the universe and cared more for her family and friends than anything in the world. With a sweet Southern accent and infectious laugh she was always ready to give a big hug. While most called her Alice, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all of their friends called her NanNan.

Alice spent her early years in Marvell, Arkansas, and move to Jackson, Mississippi in 1960 after graduating high school. She was employed by American Public Life Insurance for many years. She was a team mother on her son’s baseball teams, PTA President, President of the National Insurance Women’s Association, played on several softball teams, and loved playing cards (but never cheated, wink…wink…) and telling stories.

Alice was loved by and will be missed by so many. Her favorite things in life were watching movies with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending family reunions.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Price (Scott) of Florence; sons, Jack Field Short, Jr. of Jackson and Burt Short of Indio, CA; sisters, Paulette Ravesies of Brandon and Arlene Mooney of Bentonville, AR; brother, Billy Moore of Marvell, AR; grandchildren, Matthew Short, Nicole Short, Kristen Stull, Gregg Stull, Kya Short and Ryden Short; great grandchildren, Kaden Short, Zaylee Cook, Talon Engle and Kyler Engle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lillian Moore; husband, Jack Field Short, Sr. and daughter, Jacqueline Short.
