Allen Jearl Amason

Allen Jearl Amason, 85, passed away on Wed. Nov. 8, 2023, in Collins, MS. Visitation will be held on Sat. Nov. 11, 2023, from 12pm-1:30pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 1:30pm on Sat. Nov. 11, 2023, at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Mr. Amason was born on Jan. 7, 1938, in Smith County, MS to the late Harvey Richard Amason and Lula Florence Rankin Amason. Mr. Amason served his country with the United States Army. He retired as a Captain with over 40 years of service with the Jackson Fire Department and the Air National Guard. Mr. Amason was also a member of Pearl First Baptist Church in Pearl, MS.

Mr. Amason is survived by his wife Betty Porch Amason; son, Randall Amason (Kim); grandchild, Randa Katherine Neal (Jake); great grandchild, Lucy Vera Neal; two sisters, Joy Rachel, Jean Netherland and a sister-in-law, Doris Amason. Mr. Amason is also preceded in death by his seven siblings, Wanza McAlpin, Lois Kennedy, J.D. Amason, Howard Amason, Christine Blackwell, Bonnie McAlpin and Donald Amason.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
