Alma Louise Manton, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend died on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the age of 95 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Carson, MS and was a long-time resident of Jackson and Brandon before moving to Houston in late 2011 to be closer to her sons.
Louise married her husband, Joe, on February 7, 1947 and had three sons. She devoted a majority of her time to raising three active boys. She later worked for the Mississippi Game and Fish Commission and the Catholic Diocese in Jackson. She was a great cook, was active in the church, and enjoyed taking trips with her sisters, dancing, reading, shopping, and, mostly, laughing and enjoying life.
Louise is survived by her sons; Ron and his wife Brenda; Don and his wife Sherry; and daughter-in-law Jessie (Joey). Her grandchildren are Jason, Katie, Kent, Josh, and Elizabeth and she also has seven great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are Doris Miller, Alice Archer, and Leo Bergin.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 and funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019. Both will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
