Ann Sheppard

October 23, 1943 — April 18, 2013

Ann Barker Sheppard, 69, a resident of Brandon, MS for sixty years passed away peacefully at her home on Thurs. April 18, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 11am. on Sat. April 20, 2013 at the Brandon Baptist Church with visitation one hour before the service at the church.

Mrs. Sheppard was a graduate of Brandon High School, class of 1961, and was a graduate from Mississippi College with a degree in science education. She taught biology and served as a counselor in the Brandon school system for thirty two years. After retiring from school teaching, she worked in the Registrar’s office at Belhaven University for eight years. In recent years, she and her husband started and operated their family business, Town Square Antique Mall in Brandon.

Ann was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and served Him through her church especially through choir and Shoe Box Missions. Her life was lived out as a gift to her family, her friends, her students, her church, and the community in which she lived.

Gran especially loved to watch all of her grandchildren’s ballgames and other activities. They know just how special they were to her.

Mrs. Sheppard was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Dolly Barker. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Charles B. Sheppard; son, Scott Sheppard (Christy) of Brandon; daughter, K’Ann Sheppard of Jackson, MS; brother, Bob Barker (Fran) of Madison, MS; five grandchildren, Bailey Sheppard, Colby Sheppard, Sunni Sheppard, Hayden Tucker, and Aubrey Tucker; and one grand dog, Bean.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Brandon Baptist Dr. Brandon, MS 39042, or to the ALS Association, P.O. Box 66825, Baton Rouge, LA 70896.
