Mrs. Annie Ham

February 4, 1929 — May 22, 2017

Annie Lee Prestwood Ham returned to her heavenly home on May 22, 2017. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in the Lord supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She was 88.
Annie Lee was born to the late Austin Lee and Maggie Lee Prestwood on February 4, 1929. Annie Lee was a former employee of The Baptist Children’s Village where she served as a houseparent on multiple campuses. She loved working with children and her cooking was favored by all.
Annie Lee was blessed with a large and loving family. She was married to James E. Ham for 60 years until to his passing in 2005. Annie Lee raised their four children with patience, discipline and humility.
Annie Lee was kind and had a loving heart. She greatly enjoyed to visit with family and friends. She was an avid piano player and would often play for other residents at her nursing home. She enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren and crocheted frequently.
She was a prayer warrior for her family and for those around her. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate that she is at peace with her Creator.
She is survived by 3 siblings, her 4 children James, Jr., Danny, Sr., Shirley, and Joni; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Ham, Sr. and her parents, Austin Lee and Maggie Lee Prestwood.
Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Wednesday, May 24 5 until 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held for the family and close friends on Thursday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery in Pearl. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Ott & Lee Funeral Home at 1360 W. Government St., Brandon, MS 39042. Memorials may be made to The Baptist Children’s Village at (601) 952-2422.
