Ann Marie Walker

Ann Marie Walker, 90, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 5-7 pm Thursday, January 5, 2023 and 9 am Friday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 10 am Friday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with Dr. Jeff Holland officiating.

Ann Walker was born on July 17, 1932 in Carthage, MS to Leon Harris and Irene Elizabeth Cotten. She went to MS College where she met Solon Walker. They then married upon graduation in 1955. Ann was a member of Pinelake Church in Brandon  She loved creating art through pottery and was an avid gardener who took pride in every plant that she placed into the ground. Regardless of weather, she was always found outside tending to her flower bed as long as health permitted. Ann not only took pride in her green thumb but in her family where she had 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheri Mallette (Greg) of Brandon; sons, Richard Gage Walker (Debbie) of Brandon and Mark Lowery Walker of Brandon; daughter-in-law, Betty Walker of Meridian; brother, The Honorable Vernon Reid Cotten of Carthage; grandchildren, Cody Walker (Desiree) and Cari Walker of Meridian, Will Mallette (Morgan) of Brandon, Chris Mallette (Madison) of Brandon and Megan Johnson of Brandon, Kelli Walker of Nashville and Casey Walker of Brandon; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Walker, Dillon Walker, Mary Lawrence Johnson, Olivia Mallette and William Mallette.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Solon Walker; son, Steven Harris Walker; brother, Dr. Jimmy Cotten and his wife Jane.

Pallbearers are Will Mallette, Chris Mallette, Cody Walker, Josh Johnson, Gage Walker and Brent Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Cotten and Dr. Reid Cotten.
