Anthony Wayne McGraw

Anthony Wayne McGraw died unexpectedly on February 15, 2025 at the age of 50 at his home. He was born in Jackson, MS on Dec 6th, 1974 to Joe Wayne McGraw and Linda Carol Winstead McGraw in Jackson, MS and was currently a resident of Braxton, MS. On July 29th, 2000 he married Cherie Brister McGraw and they later welcomed their handsome sons; Christopher, Tyler, Hunter, and Aaron. 

 His family was the most important part of his life. He loved his family and friends and his smile and laugh was so contagious. He was so full of life and adventurous he was so fun to be around. 

Anthony attended Wingfield High School where he played football. He started work at Lott's Plumbing and moved on to Valvoline and later FedEx. He left FedEx when he acquired a better position with Overnight Parts Alliance where he was employed the last three years.

 Anthony was a devoted loving husband and father. He was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying all that nature had to offer especially hunting and fishing. He shared his passion with his boys and loved teaching them all the things related to the outdoors. Furthermore, Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family and friends vacationing in Destin, FL which was his favorite thing he looked forward to every year. He loved the Mississippi State Bulldogs and enjoyed cheering on the football team. 

 Anthony has had a big impact on so many people's lives. He was full of life, adventurous and loved to make others laugh. To be his friend meant you were family. To know Anthony was to love him. He will be deeply missed! 

 He is survived by his loving wife, Cherie Brister McGraw; children, Tyler McGraw, Hunter McGraw, Aaron McGraw; father, Joe Wayne McGraw and step mother, Jeanette McGraw; step brothers, Wes Shivers and Vic Shivers (Heather); mother in law, Janet Harvey, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

 He was preceded in death by son, Christopher Scott McGraw; mother, Linda Parman; grandfather, Joe McGraw; grandmother, Ruth Davis; grandfather, Rev. Wilson Winstead; grandmother, Bobbie Winstead; aunt, Angie McGraw; and a cousin, Donna Kay Hendrick. 

 Visitation is scheduled for 9:30 - 11:00 AMfollowed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Rev. Bobby McGuffie will officiate the service. Graveside service will be held at Scotland Baptist Church at 2:30 PM where Anthony will lay to rest.
