Ardyce Elaine Frigstad Anderson, 85, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10 am Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Brandon Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at 3 pm in the Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS.
Ardyce Elaine Frigstad was born on February 25, 1926 in Traill County, North Dakota to the late Edwin and Anna Frigstad. She was a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Fargo, ND and studied Public Health Nursing at the University of Minnesota. She worked as a Public Health Nurse in Grand Forks County, North Dakota and as a nursing instructor at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. She was Practical Nursing Instructor with Clarksdale Public Schools and Mississippi Delta Junior College in the Clarksdale, MS area until 1988. She served as the Senior Center Day Care Center Nurse at SLA Jones Senior Center from 1988 until 1991. She was a member of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary Yerger Unit #28, the Clarksdale Music Club, and the Peach Tree Choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald H. Anderson in February, 2003; her parents; and her brothers, Kenneth and Orval Frigstad.
Survivors include her daughters, Joanne Anderson James (Clayton) of Brandon, MS and Dr. Patricia J. Anderson of Greenville, NC; grandchildren, Reverend Andy James of Whitestone, NY and Kayla J. Anderson of Greenville, NC; her brother-in-law, Russell Anderson (LaVonne) of San Luis Obispo, CA; her sister-in-law, Irene Vandrovec of Valley City, ND; nieces, Kim Frigstad, Sylvia Knutsvig, Beatrice Krogen, Donna James, Amy Jorrison, and Sandra Anderson; and nephews, Ron Frigstad, Dennis Frigstad, Jim Frigstad, and Steven Anderson.

All who knew her will remember her love of the Lord, her compassion, gentleness, thoughtfulness, and sense of humor.
