Arlon L. Palmer, 93, a resident of Polkville died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Rolling Acres Nursing Home in Raleigh, MS. Visitation will be held 5-9 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Polkville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Max Price will officiate the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of the services.
 
Mr. Palmer was a native of Smith Co. He was the son of John Henry and Lola Bradshaw Palmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Polkville. Mr. Palmer worked for B.C. Rogers, he worked in New Orleans, Pacific Architect and Engineers in Saigon and the Pentagon as an accountant. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Palmer loved planting and hibernizing Day Lillies and growing flowers. He loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
 
Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Lola Bradshaw Palmer, brothers, Herbert, Lester (Joe) and J.H. Palmer, sisters, Vera Jones, Gertrude Wade and Coral Simmons.
 
Mr. Palmer was survived by his lifelong friend, Mel Elliott of Polkville; sister, Doris Pennington of Polkville; many nieces, nephews, cousin and a host of friends.
