Arthur Jay Shows, Jr.

Arthur “Jay” Shows, Jr., 60, passed away on Saturday, September 21st, 2019, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. “Jay Bird”, as he was affectionately called, was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Jay was born in Jackson, MS on April 19th, 1959, to Arthur Jay Shows, Sr. and Mary Northam Shows. He grew up in Pearl, MS, and attended Hinds County Junior College where he honed his craft and became a barber.

Jay was of the Baptist faith, and well known for being kind, good hearted, and generous to all who knew him. He loved his family fiercely and never met a stranger.

Jay is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Shows; son, Aaron Hayes Shows and wife Louisa; daughter, Michelle Hutson and husband Nicky Joe; daughter, Sarah Eutzler and husband Nick. He leaves behind three grandchildren; Brennan, Kathryn, and Vada; sister, Jennie Torrence and husband Danny, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services are at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in the chapel of the funeral home, preceded by visitation beginning at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Brennan Hutson, Matthew Torrence, Josh Torrence, Joseph Torrence, Brent Hopper, Randy Donald and Austin Tew.

Visitation: 5-8pm Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home, Brandon, MS.

Service: 11am Wednesday, September 25, 2019, in the chapel of the funeral home with visitation starting at 10am prior.

Interment: Branch Baptist Cemetery
