Audie Worley

Audie Evans Worley, age 87, of Brandon, MS, passed away on Sat. March 6, 2021 peacefully at home with her loving and devoted husband by her side. A celebration of life will be Fri. March 12, 2021 at 12noon from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with Dr. John Cofer officiating. Visitation will be from 10am until service time.

She was born in Jasper County, MS on Dec. 22, 1933 to the late Obie Vastie Evans and Bertha Edna Griffin Evans.  She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Employed by Allstate Insurance as an underwriter and received many prestigious awards before retiring in 1997.

Basketball was a passion of hers in high school and later played semi pro in women’s league as a member of the Pine-Sol Queens. She later developed a love for tennis and was a fierce competitor in the Jackson Ladies Tennis Association.

Audie is survived by her loving husband, Charles Worley; one son, Marty Stephen Gardner (Deb); two grandchildren, Hannah Vickers (Andy) and Hunter Gardner (Lindsey); five great grandchildren; siblings, Terrell Evans (Louise), Edsel Evans (Barbara) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

She was a great Christian lady, soft spoken, but with a quick wit and lover of music and dance. She greatly blessed and enriched the lives of those she touched and was loved and cherished by all.
