Austin Lane

Austin Alexander “Bug” Lane, age 16, of Pearl, MS, left this Earth and went home to Jesus Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson, MS in the arms of his mother and surrounded by his family and friends. He fought many battles successfully throughout his life. He was our superhero and was affectionately known by many nicknames such as “our Superman” and “our Bug”. He was a light that radiated to everyone who knew him. His smile, laugh, and pure joy was contagious to anyone and everyone around him. Austin was always happy; he woke up with a smile and went to sleep with a smile. He lost his fight after a long, hard 7 week battle that his body simply could no longer withstand. He will be forever missed, loved and remembered.

Austin is survived by his mother Brandy Pepper and step-mother Gena Pepper of Pearl, MS; his father Chris Lane of Madison, MS; his grandparents Joe and Glenda Lane of Brandon, MS, Herbert and Shelia McElroy of Pearl, MS, Tommy and Tiffany Craig of Ludlow, MS, and Jim and Cynthia Patterson of Pass Christian, MS; his uncle Brian Ellis and aunt Shannon Ellis with Emily and Ace of Pearl, MS, and a whole host of other loving family and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm, Monday, April 29, 2019 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 and Monday, April 29, 2019 from 2:00-3:45 at the funeral home.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the wonderful Hope Health Care nurses and all of the amazing Blair E Batson PICU doctors, nurses, respiratory therapist and hospital staff. We thank you for your exceptional care and genuine love you showed to Austin and our family.
