B. Joan Torrence Henley, 61, a resident of Polkville died Friday, April 8, 2011 at home. Funeral services were held 11 am Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Sims Cemetery. Visitation was held 4-8 pm Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the funeral home. Rev. Barron Price and Rev. Robert Gatewood officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Henley was a native of Attala Co. and was the daughter of Hanson and Vertna Pressley. She was married to John Henley. Mrs. Henley worked in Medical Billing Administrations at the V.A. Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She attended the Oak Grove Church of God in Polkville. Mrs. Henley loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Henley was preceded in death by her parents, Hanson and Vertna Pressley.
Mrs. Henley is survived by her husband, John Henley of Polkville; daughters, Rachelle Torrence Martin (Brent) of Byram and Charite Torrence Traxler (Thill) of Polkville; stepson, Bobby Henley (Stephanie) of Byram; brother, Mike Pressley (Brenda) of Clyde, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, 3 great greandchildren, niece, Stormie Starks (Brian) of Landis, NC, nephew, Michael Pressley (Baylie) of Ft. Mills, SC and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers were, Justin Storey, Austin Storey, Brent Martin, Christian Storey, Bobby Henley, Doug Beard and Johnny Hartwick served as an honorary pallbearer.
