Mrs. Barbara Alford

Mrs. Barbara Dale Brown Alford, age 74 passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at her residence in Lena. Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service was held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from the Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Morton with burial at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Barbara was born to Atley and Willie Olene Burnside Brown in Leake County on May 25, 1943. She worked as a receptionist for Rival for over 15 years. Barbara loved gardening, teaching Sunday school, being a hostess, working with the youth, WMU, cooking, and sewing. One of the things she really enjoyed going to her son's football games. Barbara loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Alford; her parents, Atley and Willie Brown; and one brother, Harland Brown.
She is survived by her three children, Arthur Sheldon Alford, Tammy (Rudy) Parker of Brandon, and Crystal Alford of Lena/ Forkville; her brother Quinton Brown of Lena; her grandchildren, Arthur Jacob Alford, Joshua Adam Alford, Aryanna Grace Stephens; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Kenny Stephens, Rudy Parker, Jake Alford, Josh Alford, Alex Sumerall, Wayne Brown.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
