Barbara J. Ellison, age 59, a resident of Sebastopol, died Saturday October 13, 2012 at home following a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Friday October 19, 2012 from the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church near Sebastopol with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 5pm-8pm Thursday October 18, 2012 at the OTT & LEE FUNERAL HOME in Forest. Rev. Jerry Bennett will officiate the services.
Mrs. Ellison was a lifelong resident of Scott County. She attended Gilmer Chapel Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady G. Abel and Bertha Jackson Abel and three brothers; Jerry Abel, J.R. Abel, and Edward Abel.
Survivors include her husband James Ellison of Sebastopol, three children; Christy Snow of Puckett, Donna Ellison and Kenneth Ellison both of Jay, FL., two sisters, Inez Thrash (Earl) of Sebastopol, Elsie Posey of Lake, three brothers; Bill Abel (Charlotte) of Sebastopol, Jesse Abel (Brenda) of Sebastopol, and Clayton Abel (Shirley) of Homewood. She also leaves behind two grandchildren; Hayes Barlow and Rylee Barlow.
Pallbearers were be Christopher Mowdy, Danny Thrash, Dale Mowdy, Atley Mahaffey, John Fleming and John Anthony.
