Barbara P. Russell, a long-time resident of Brandon, MS passed away Tues. July 7, 2015 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was 86.
Barbara was born on April 22, 1929 in Weathersby, MS to H. Fulton and Ethel Breland Prine. She grew up in Weathersby and attended Mendenhall High School in Mendenhall, MS. Barbara also attended the University of Mississippi where she received an Associate of Banking Degree. She retired as Vice President of Operations at Trustmark National Bank in Jackson, MS after her 39 year career. She was a loving and caring person who served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ faithfully all her life. Barbara was a member of Flowood Baptist Church for over 30 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Max” Russell; her sister, Elsie P. Everett and her brother, Howard Prine.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah P. Hogan (Ross) of Brandon, MS; her grandson, Dr. Robert Jeffrey Hogan (Ann) of Watkinsville, GA; her granddaughter, Ashley Hogan Lott (Andy) of Biloxi, MS; her great-grandchildren, Sam Hogan, Ben Hogan, Tyler Lott and Seth Lott, and her five beloved nieces and their families. Barbara is also survived by a devoted companion, James McCreery of Brandon, MS.
Visitation will be held on Sat. July 11, 2015 from 10am-1pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 2pm on Sat. July 11, 2015 at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS.
