Barbara J. Mcwhorter

Barbara McWhorter, 71, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 5-7 pm Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 10 am Friday at the funeral home with a 2 pm graveside at Stonewall Cemetery in Ethel, MS.
Mrs. McWhorter was a lifelong resident of the Jackson area. She was a member of Griffith Memorial Baptist Church in Jackson for over 50 years, teaching Sunday School for over 40 years and was a member of the choir. Mrs. McWhorter worked at the MEA Corporate Office as a Payroll Clerk for 22 years and loved her family very much, especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, James P. McWhorter of Pearl; son, Steve McWhorter of Pearl; daughter, Rhonda J. Jordan (Tommy) of Strasburg, VA; grandchildren, Daniel McWhorter and Mason Jordan; sister, Guylean Cooper of Clinton; brothers, Irvin Clack of Clinton, Willard Clack of Pearl and Jerry Clack of Puckett.
