Mr. Benjamin Franklin Cole, age 73, a resident of Morton, but formerly of Jackson, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at the V.A. Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A Memorial Service will be held 11am on December 21, 2010 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cole was born in Dallas, GA. He lived in Jackson for many years but had made his home in Morton for the last 7 years. Benjamin was proud to have served in the U.S. Army and was presented the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Noel Cole and Ola Gazaway Cole; son, Ronald Wayne Cole; grandchild, Chelsea Cole and brother, Walter Cole.
He is survived by 4 children, Joey Cole of Hooks, TX, Jerry Cole of Dallas, TX, Carol Valenzuela of Austin, TX and Rhonda Martinez of Mesquite, TX; 7 grandchildren, Cobey and Brittney Junell, Tyler Valenzuela, Casey Cole, Rafeal Mays, Danica and Talisa Martinez; 3 great grandchildren, Cayden Martinez, Kylie Wells and London Junell and special friends, Don and Nina Franklin of Morton.
