Ben Fortenberry

Ben Fortenberry, age 71 died peacefully Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at his home following an extended illness.

Visitation will be held from 5pm til 7pm Thursday at the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest with a chapel service to follow this visitation at 7pm.

Ben was born on May 15, 1950, to his parents, Ben Fortenberry, Sr. and Alma Kate Johnson Fortenberry in Neshoba County.  He was a Baptist.    He was a self-employed roofer. Ben loved the outdoors, he also loved his family and visiting with friends.  One of his favorite pastimes was fishing, he loved to fish.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter; Amanda Wydell  Fortenberry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Clara Spears Fortenberry, children; Ben Fortenberry (Patty) of Morton and Stanley Fortenberry (Carol) of Forest.  Ben had 26 siblings.  He leaves behind a legacy of 8 grandchildren; Mandy Grace Stewart, Liberty Fortenberry, Ashton Fortenberry, Maggie Fortenberry, Faith Havard, Heather Jones (John), Emma Thrift (Chris), and  Courtney Cumberland (Joe), 5 grandchildren; Hunter Jones, Johnathan Jones, Autumn Jones, Braylan Lawrence, and Tennessee Lyric Cumberland.  He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
