Bennie Ray Stone, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the VA Nursing Home in Jackson. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30am Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the chapel of First Baptist Church, Jackson, MS. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00am. Interment will follow the service in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson where he was a member of the Chapel Sunday School Class and a former member of the Reflections Choir. He served our country as a 2nd Class Seaman in the Navy and is a World War II Veteran. He also was a 32 degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida Louise Whitley Stone; son, Gerald Dee Stone; and mother, Susan Ellen Hardgee.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nylon Hellen Stone; sons, Gary Allen Stone (TyAnne), Steven Ray Stone (Cheryl), and Kevin Lane Stone (Aimee); step-children, Melanie Morano, Lonn Hellen (Fonda), and Bruce Hellen (Frances); grandchildren, Amy Lemly (Brooks), Megan Stone, Laura Hester (Miles), Adam Stone, Logan Stone, and Lanie Stone; step-grandchildren, Jess Morano, Selena Morano Johnson, Nick Morano, Renae Vallas, Melissa Hellen, and Valerie Hellen; and great-grandchildren, Whitley Hester, Price Hester, Matthew Lemly, and Elyse Lemly.
