After graduating from Draughn’s Business College, she married and spent many years as a Navy wife, living in Alaska, Guam, California, Oregon, Georgia, Tennessee, and eventually settling back home in Brandon. She retired from Mississippi Highway Department and the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Her retirement years were spent enjoying her church family and making many numerous fun trips with the senior adults. They’ve told the family “she was the life of the party.” Other memorable trips were to Alaska, Egypt, the Holy Land, and a trip to London. She was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and assistants at Heritage House for providing their mother excellent care. Her dear friends at Timbers II, where she lived for over thirty years, and her new friends at Heritage House will continue to be dear to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Renna Smith Comfort, brothers, Mervin Anse Comfort and Hayes Royal Comfort; 3 sons, infant Cyril Cully Jackson, Jr., Jack Rustin “Rusty” Jackson, and Brian Edwards Jackson.
