Bernelle Ivy Thompson, 83, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at home. Funeral services will be held 4 pm Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Hodge Hill Cemetery in Morton. Visitation will be held 4-9 pm Monday at the funeral home. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of the arrangements.Mrs. Thompson was a native of Newton Co. She was the daughter of Ausbin Ivy and Edeth Vance Ivy. She was married to Jefferson Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Southwest Christian Church in Jackson, MS. She worked 35 years for G.E. Electric as a supervisor. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, Ausbin Ivy and Edeth Vance Ivy, sister, Marzell Stephens, brother, Benny Joe Ivy, sister-in-law, Sybil Westberry, brothers-in-law, Austin, Ernest and Otis Thompson.Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Jefferson Tee Thompson; sisters-in-law, Sudie Thompson, Nell Traxler, Faye Thompson, Mary Thompson, Willie Mae Thompson; brothers-in-law, Oscar Thompson and Jack Thompson; 2 Nieces; 2 nephews, many cousins and a host of friends.Serving Mrs. Thompson as pallbearers will be Doug Savell, Bill Johnson, Lane Palmer, Jimmy Westberry, Ira Donald and Jonathan Chapel.
