Bernice Estelle JamesMortonBernice Estelle James,
91, a resident of the Morton died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at home. Visitation
was held 5-9 pm Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Funeral services were held 3 pm Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the funeral home with
burial in the James Cemetery in Smith Co. Rev. Art Kinstely, Rev. Barron Price,
Rev. Donnie Stuart and Rev. Buddy Bayliss officiated the services. Ott and Lee
Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.Mrs. James was a native
of Smith Co. and was the daughter of Wallace Franklin and Myra Sally Purvis
Thompson. She was married to Robert “Booty” James. She was a member of the
Kalem United Methodist Church. Mrs. James loved to write letters and cards and
send to the ones that were sick and those that she cared for. She loved her
family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She
will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.Mrs. James was preceded
in death by her parents, Wallace Franklin and Myra Sally Purvis Thompson,
husband, Robert “Booty” James, sister, Wilma Gibson and her brothers, John and
James Thompson.Mrs. James is survived by
her sisters, Ida Lou Stuart, Ruby Miley and her brother, Danny Ray Thompson;
many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.Serving as pallbearers
were Lee Stuart, Michael Stuart, Wayne Miley, Donnie Taylor, Larry Joe Stuart
and Ryan Harrell.Serving as honorary
pallbearers were Opie Ray White and Bossy Wadsworth.
