Bettie McCormick Delcomyn, born on November 24, 1950, in Lexington, Mississippi, passed away on April 12, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many.
Bettie was very active in her community and made a significant impact through her involvement in the Lady's Bible Study group at Pinelake Church. She took great pride in mentoring women at the correctional facilities in Rankin County and loved helping out with the Pinelake food pantry. Her heart for service also led her on a mission trip with Pinelake Church, where she shared her love and faith with others.
Bettie cherished her family deeply and was known as the glue that held them together. She enjoyed traveling abroad with her girlfriends and loved spending time at the Gulf Coast with loved ones. Her warm spirit and nurturing nature will be missed by all who knew her.
Bettie is survived by her husband, Gene Delcomyn; her son, Chad Hodges; her sister, Millicent Craddock, and her husband Joey; her brother, Larry McCormick, and his wife Donna; her brother, Milton H. McCormick; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Vincent McCormick; her mother, Norma Hairald McCormick; and her daughter, Shana Alethia Vaughn.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The family invites all who knew Bettie to come and celebrate her life.
