Betty Maxine Presley Beard

On April 1, 2022, Maxine passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She was born July 26, 1941 in Ludlow, Mississippi to Clell and Marie Presley.

Affectionately known as Momma and Mammaw, Maxine was loved by all who knew her.  She enjoyed the Hallmark Channel, Diet Coke, Little Debbies, whole catfish, and fried chicken.  Maxine loved her boys and grandchildren, and she loved her Savior above them all.  She and her late husband, Billy Ray, were members of Thornhill Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, Mississippi.

Maxine was reunited in death with her husband, Billy Ray Beard; sons, Billy Dewayne Varner and Barry Dwendell Varner; parents Clell Presley and Marie Lamkin Presley; three sisters and two brothers.  She leaves behind her son, Dwight Varner and daughter-in-love of 43 years, Dianne Varner; grandchildren: Amanda Alman, Alyssa Landry (Brandon), Adam Varner (Dustie), Colie Beard, Zack Rogers, and Allison Rogers; great-grandchildren: Bethani Grace Alman, Quentin Alman, Gabby Taylor, Isabella Taylor, Clyde Taylor and Donte Grant; sister Barbara King (Joe), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 from 4pm until 7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi.  Graveside funeral service will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11am at Andrew Chapel Cemetery.
