Betty Cumberland

Betty Jean Cumberland, 80, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Dec. 13, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be held on Fri. Dec. 14, 2018 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm on Sat. Dec. 15, 2018 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

She was born on Mar. 10, 1938 in Yazoo County, MS to Theodore and Clatie (Barrett) Howell. She was the ninth of eleven children. On Jun. 9, 1956, She married Odie Wayne Cumberland. They had two daughters. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as sewing and gardening. Betty worked for Allstate Insurance Company for 20 years. She finished her work career performing medical transcribing for MS State Hospital in Whitfield, MS. Betty was a member of Skyway Hills Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years; her parents; brothers, Sam, Jessie and Lamar; sisters, Syble, Vinie, Helen, Eunice and Mary. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Mark), and Angie (Marty); grandchildren, Aimee (Boyd), Ashley (Sam), Apryl (Miguel), Sarah (Gabe), Anna, Austin, Brianna and Matthew; great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Adonijah, Isaac, Jedidiah, Eli, Lily, and Livi; two sisters, Burtie Peden (W.D.), Inez Purvis (Hugh) and many nieces and nephews.
