Betty Norsworthy Felts, 77, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016, at home. Visitation will be 4pm – 8pm Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services are 2pm Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Brandon Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Felts was born in Flowood, MS on January 14, 1939 to Lewis C. Norsworthy and Gladys Jones Norsworthy. She was a member of Drake’s United Methodist Church. Betty and George married August 31, 1957 and she was a devoted wife and mother. She was a pastor’s wife for 38 of her 59 years married to Rev. George E. Felts.
She loved to travel with her girls and was a member of various organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy Ray Norsworthy; and sister, Ruby N. Tew.
Survivors include her husband, George E. Felts; 4 daughters, Bridget Teresa Felts (Corey), Regina Felts Sistrunk (Wayne), Kimberly Felts Arnold (Louie) and Penny Felts Bishop (Jay); 7 grandchildren, Emily S. Fisher (Rob), Katie S. Watson (Colby), Michael Shane Arnold (Karen), Jacob Felts Arnold, Ashley Thurman, Morgan Thurman and Cody Bishop; 5 great grandchildren, Emma Grace Fisher, Corbin Hayes Fisher, Robert Case Fisher, Michael Aiden Arnold and Anna Claire Arnold; sisters, Ophelia Shelton and Mavis Duffy; brother, L.C. “Billy” Norsworthy, Jr., Thomas Norsworthy, Larry Norsworthy and Steve Norsworthy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
