Betty Goff

Betty Virginia (Boone) Goff, beloved wife of Jack B. Goff Sr., went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Select Specialty Hospital, in Jackson, on Dec. 15, 2018. Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. Funeral Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 at Brandon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Brandon Memorial Gardens.

Virginia Boone was born in Madison, Florida, but grew up in the Venice-Nokomis area of Florida’s Gulf coast where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jack. Virginia was a devoted matriarch and peacemaker who continually patched up her six rambunctious boys and whoever else came along that needed patching. These boys would grow up to credit many of their own successes to “Mama”. In 1996, Jack and Virginia retired from Florida and made Brandon their home. The couple spent 54 loving years together before his passing in 2008.

Virginia never met a stranger, making new friends up until her last day before entering the Kingdom of Heaven. She was dedicated to her Brandon Baptist Church Community that uplifted her and carried her through so many fulfilling years. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack B. Goff Sr. and her son, Jack. B. Goff Jr. Virginia will be missed and forever loved by her surviving family: son, Gary (Jill) of Ft. Myers, FL./Brandon, Miss., Carl (Rebecca) of Jacksonville Beach, FL., Steven of Ft. Myers, FL., Philip (Kate) of Indianapolis, IN. and Joe (Melissa) of Flowood, sixteen grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren.
