Betty Jean Garner, age 82 a resident of Jackson passed away surrounded by her loving children on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.   Visitation will be held 10am-12pm Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Chapel service will be held 12pm Thursday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial to follow in Polkville Baptist Cemetery.   Bro. Barron Price will officiate the services.  Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton is honored to serve the Garner family.

Betty was born in Polkville, MS on October 16, 1941.  She loved to fish and loved her dog, Red very much.  Betty loved to cook for her family and spoil the grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her happy spirit and smile will be missed.  She was always full of life and her family stated, “Betty always was going to get the last word in.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry T. Easterling and Verna Phillips Easterling; husband and children’s father, Hubert C. Dukes; 2^nd husband, Estus R. Garner; siblings, Infant brother, Leo Easterling, Ruth Easterling, Lloyd Easterling, Kennis Easterling, Doug Easterling, Caley Easterling, Robert Easterling, James Easterling, Willard Easterling, Anne Rae Owens and Buddy Easterling.

She is survived by her 2 children, Renee’ LaFrance (Ray) of Byram and Angela Perry (Randy) of Pelahatchie; sister, Shirley Bearden of Richland; 4 grandchildren, Jessica LaFrance, Kayla LaFrance, Chelsea LaFrance (Jamie) and Randall Perry (Natalie); 10 great grandchildren, Ethan LaFrance, Jayla Pickett, Ashton Gage Pickett, Joseph Buffington, Aria Buffington, Aidyn Smith, Gabriel Perry, Jude Perry, Callister Perry and 1 that will be arriving in September 2024.  

Pallbearers will be Ethan LaFrance, Jamie Buffington, Randall Perry, Danny Easterling, Eugene Owens and Jeremy Miller.

In Lieu of flowers family ask that donations be made in her name and honor to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Blair E. Batson Childrens Hospital.
