Betty Maner

March 15, 1939 — August 1, 2013

Betty Fay Stewart Maner, 74, a resident of Canton died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 pm Friday. Rev. Jack Stewart and Rev. Calvin Shoemaker will be officiating the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of the services.

Mrs. Maner was a native of Rankin Co. She was the daughter of Didlo Stewart and Willie Irene Williams Stewart Varner. She is married to William George “Bill” Maner. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World, Eastern Star, and the Moose Lodge. Mrs. Maner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very fond of hummingbirds, clocks, flowers and her grandkids. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Maner is preceded in death by her parents, Didlo Stewart and Willie Irene Williams Stewart Varner, sister, Patricia Williams, grandson, Christopher Dwight Prestage, granddaughter, Amanda Morris and her former husbands, James Prestage and Clemon Howard Jones.

Mrs. Maner is survived by her husband William George “Bill” Maner of Canton; sons, Wallace (Ramona) Prestage of Leesburg and Jeff Prestage of Sandhill; step children, Patricia Maner of St. Petersburg, FL, Tamie Maner of Minneapolis, MN, and Tim (Tatianna) Maner of Phenix, AZ; Brother, Danny (Judy) Stewart of Philadelphia, MS; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
