Betty Jean Means, age 79, a resident of Pelahatchie, MS passed away January 10, 2022, while under the care of doctors and nurses at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. A graveside service will be held 2 pm Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Concord Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. All are welcome to attend.

Mrs. Means was born May 6, 1942, in Jackson MS to Arista and Hugh Harding. Being a dedicated business accountant, she was well known in her community. She spent many years working at Crossroads Automotive as a bookkeeper once her health became the main focus. She was always so proud of her children and their accomplishments, and was one of the Proudest, “military moms" you've ever met.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, listening to their achievements, and watching them grow. She also enjoyed coffee breaks with friends, loved the outdoors, and loved most of all getting daily phone calls from her kids. She loved her fur babies, Yogi and Doodle.  She touched many lives, many referred to her as the "sweetest lady".

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her life partner, Sam Thomas Means.

Survived by daughter, Melissa (David) Pate, Sons Sam (Angela) Means Jr. and Tim (Tabitha) Means; grandsons, Dustin, Cody, Ripley, Zachary and Wyatt; granddaughter, Jocelyn; and a host of friends.
