Betty Ruth Bates Phillipson Morton Betty Ruth Bates Phillipson, age 87, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton. Visitation was held 5-9pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held 2pm Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Bobo Phillipson offficiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Mrs. Phillipson was born in Scott County on May 15, 1929. Betty loved to work her garden and grow vegetables. She loved to do crafts at the nursing home. Betty loved to visit and talk with people and she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Phillipson Sr.; parents, George Bates and Ruby Robinson Bates Rawls; sons, Clyde E. Phillipson Jr., Terry Phillipson and Ronnie Gene Phillipson; 3 grandchildren, Billy Dale Phillipson, Glenda Phillipson and Amanda Phillipson McDade; sister, Mary Gilmore; 2 brothers, Arthur Bates and George Bates; step father, Frank Rawls. She is survived by 4 children, Juanita Phillipson of Morton, Cathy Valdes of Morton, Billy Phillipson (Betty) of Raymond and H.C. Phillipson of Morton; sister, Ruby Jewel Powell of Sebastopol; 17 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren; daughter in law, Ann Phillipson and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Jason Phillipson, John Phillipson, Josh Phillipson, Clyde Phillipson, Randy Phillipson, Ricky Phillipson, Charles Phillipson and Sam Phillipson.
