Betty Arlean Goza, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 5-8 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2016 and 12 noon Thursday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home with burial in Lakeland Place Garden Park in Brandon.
Betty was a native of Sunflower County and a longtime resident of Rankin County. She was a faithful member of Brandon First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Betty loved the Lord and simply trusted in His promises. She retired after many years of service at USPFO and was a dedicated worker and friend to all she worked with. Betty had a sense of humor, loving to laugh and being very playful with her family and friends. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, John Goza of Brandon; daughter, Pat Cochran of Brandon; sons, Mike Goza (Shelia) of Brandon and Billy Goza of Yazoo City; sisters, Ronnie Hyer of Hollandale, Nola Roncali of Shaw, Lillie Stokes of Nashville, TN and Eugenia Odenwald of Ferriday, LA; brother, Waymon Rivers of Starkville; grandchildren, Josh Cochran, Jordan Goza, Brandon Goza, Lauren Buntin and Kristina Goza. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
