Bettye Gorrie

Service for Ms. Betty J. Gorrie was held at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Biloxi National Cemetery where she was laid to rest next to her husband.

Ms. Bettye J. Gorrie, age 88, of Woodland Court in Newton, MS passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Survivors include two daughters: Gwen (Johnny) Emmons of Forest, Marilyn (Dennis) Green of Clinton, and one son James William Gorrie of Houston, TX, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one sister Ruby Driver of Clanton, AL. All her children and their spouses and her grandchildren, and most of her great grandchildren were able to attend the celebration of her life in Biloxi.

Ms. Bettye is preceded in death by her husband James Michael Gorrie of Biloxi, her parents Ocie and Maggie Inez Mims of Clanton, AL, one brother Roy Mims, and one sister Mary Mims.

Ms. Bettye was a resident of Woodland Court for 8 years. Her family would like to thank all the care givers for all the love and support shown over all those years to her and her family
