Bettye H. Hopper, 84, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be 1-3pm Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services are 10am Monday, February 6, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery.
Bettye was born in Memphis, TN on December 16, 1932 to Charles Spurgeon Hurley and Ollie Chrismon Hurley and graduated from South Side High School in May 1950. She married on July 8, 1950, her high school sweetheart and they were blessed with 5 healthy children. She later retired from Milan Express Truckline in 1994. She was very active at First Baptist Church of Brandon and formerly Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, William Raymond Hopper; 5 children, Becky Platt (Steve), Ron Hopper (Susan), Carol Hopper (Cissy), Ray Hopper (Cindy) and Mike Hopper (Daniele); 7 grandchildren, Lauren Pearson, Jennifer Carrell, Keith Hopper, Kristen Burkhalter, Christopher Hopper, Sydney Hopper and Aiden Hopper; 5 great grandchildren, Kayla, Preston, Emmett, Lillian, and Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Brandon, Building Fund.
