Bettye Hall Eure

Morton, MS

Bettye Hall Eure, a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister and friend of many, departed to be with our heavenly father on March 29, 2024 at the age of 93.  Even though she lived a full life, she will be missed terribly and was loved by many.

She was born to Frank and Emma Hall on September 13, 1930, and grew up near Harperville in the Pea Ridge Community and lived in Mississippi all her life.  After graduating from high school in 1948, she met and married her husband, Jimmy Eure, on December 20, 1950.  They shared a life together in Morton, Mississippi until his death in 1987.   Together, they had 1 child, Randy.   Although, they had only one child, Bettye was loved by her nephews and nieces and was just like a second mother to many of them.

Bettye enjoyed spending time with her two sisters and friends, but she and Jimmy loved boating, camping, fishing, and raising their son.  She was employed at various businesses throughout her life in Morton, but her favorite job was working at city hall in Morton, Mississippi where she retired in the mid-1990s serving the Morton Community as a billing clerk.

Bettye also loved her church.  She was a member of the Independence United Methodist Church, where she joined in 1950, and was very active there until she moved into an assisted living facility closer to her son and his family.  Always cheerful, friendly, and loving to everyone, Bettye continually expressed how “Blessed” she was.  She talked about how blessed she was with her family, her friends, her church, and where she lived.  Even with numerous health issues, she constantly talked about how blessed her life and health was.

After relocating to an assisted living facility closer to her family, just before her 90th birthday, Bettye developed new friends, enjoyed new relationships, and became a resident ambassador and council member at the facility where she introduced new residence to the facility.

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and husband. She is survived by her son and his wife, Randy and Kathy Eure, two grandsons and their wives, Brad (Meagan) and Bryan (Paige), two great grandchildren, Henry and Vivianne, and several nephews and nieces, all of which loved her very much.

Pallbearers will be Brad Eure, Bryan Eure, Frankie Earls, Danny Hunter, James Patrick and Edgar Purvis.
