Mrs. Betty F. Andrews, age 88, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon. Visitation will be held 9am-11am Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services will be held 11am Wednesday at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Lodebar Cemetery. Pastor Beth Feisel and Bro. Ted Gierdano will officiate the services.
Betty Frances was born in Rankin County on June 27, 1930. She Lived in Pelahatchie all her life. Betty Frances taught school for 38 1/2 years. She taught at Pulaski, MS in Scott County, New Prospect in Gulde, MS and Pelahatchie Attendance Center in Rankin County where she retired in June 1987. A graduate of Cross Roads High School, East Central Community College, University of Southern Mississippi and also attended Mississippi College. Betty Frances was a member of Pelahatchie United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent a number of years, Sunday School teacher, Church Historian, Trustee, member of church choir, Rankin County Retired Teachers, United Methodist Women, Mississippi Retired Teachers, Alumni Association of the University of Southern Mississippi and Grand Marshall for Pelahatchie Christmas Parade, December 2, 1995. She was very active in her town of Pelahatchie and Community and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Andrews; parents, W.F. Harpe and Dovie Craig Harpe.
She is survived by her sister, Shelby Jean Harpe Bush of Mt. Home, Arkansas; nephews, John Bush (Lynda) of Pelahatchie, Steve Bush (Brenda) of Richland and Will Bush of Cleveland, OH; 4 great nieces and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Jack Rhodes, Andy Johns, Gary Carpenter, Jim Rhodes, Earl Franklin and Jay White.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
