Betty Joyce Mccarty

Betty Joyce McCarty, 73, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at her residence. A memorial service was held at 2 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Oak Grove Church of God in Polkville.Rev. Robert Gatewood officiated. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Mrs. McCarty was a native and lifelong resident of Smith County and a member of Oak Grove Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. McCarty; daughter, Tammy Goodman; parents, L. C. and Rocille Adcox, brothers, James Earl Adcox, Jimmy Adcox, Bobby Adcox, Jack Adcox and Paul Adcox. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Benton (Dan) of South Carolina, Annette Burns (Jimmy) of Raleigh and Sandra Barnes (Roger) of Morton; sister, Molly Kennedy of Polkville; brother, L. C. Adcox, Jr. of Polkville; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Pallbearers were Zach Goodman, Channing Goodman, Ryan Ross, Lee Mangum, Jesse Nance, Josh Adcox and Tracy Laird.
