Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Joyce Tatum will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from the Union Church of God with Bro. O.A. Robbins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the church.
Betty Joyce Griffin was July 21, 1946 in Newton to her parents: Willie Austin and Anna Ruth Johnson Griffin. She passed away at her home in Union on November 7, 2016 at the age of 70.
Fishing and going to rummage sales were two things that exhibited the simple life that she lived. She loved her family, especially her grand babies. Quilting was a favorite past time. She was an active and dedicated member of the Union Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Jennifer Tatum; and one sister: Carolyn Griffin.
Survivors include her husband of over 53 years: Alford Tatum of Union; four children: Randy Tatum of Philadelphia; Willie Tatum of Newton; Cynthia Tatum of Carthage; and Larry (Stephanie) Tatum of Forest; one sister: Anna Geraldine Easterling of Union; and one brother: Willie (Shirley) Griffin of Union; twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
