Mrs. Betty Ray Eason Ryan, age 84, a resident of Forest passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest.
Visitation was held from 9-11am Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Forest Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted at 11am Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Forest Baptist Church with interment at 1:30pm in the Kewanee Cemetery in Lauderdale County. Dr. Gordon Sansing, Rev. Scott Fortenberry officiated, Dr. Robert E. Lewis read the eulogy. Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ryan was born on December 12, 1929 in Chattanooga, TN. She grew up in Georgia and later attended Nursing school with training at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS and specialty training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. After completing Nursing School she worked in hospitals in Meridian, Forest and surrounding areas. She also served as Director of Nursing at Lackey Memorial Hospital.
She loved her family and friends very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Ryan was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer C. Eason, Jr. and Lillian I. Boatwright Eason.
She is survived by husband, Paul Ryan and her 3 children, Paul Michael Ryan and wife, Penny of Hillsboro, Mark Eason Ryan of Forest and Jennifer Ryan Koch and fiancé, Jack Viere of Lantana, TX; 3 brothers, Spencer C. Eason III of Chickamauga, GA, Franklin D. Eason of Chickamauga, GA and James E. Eason of Chattanooga, TN; 2 grandchildren, Chandler Ryan Koch of Boise, ID and Landon Glenn Koch and fiancé, Toni Allison Bridwell of Dallas, TX and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Chandler Ryan Koch, Landon Glenn Koch, Gary Pickett, Robert E. Lewis, Rudy G. Koch, and Scott Thomas Eason. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Viere.
