Beulah E. Weems, age 83, a resident of Forest, died Sunday February 17, 2013 surrounded by her family at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson following a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 am Tuesday February 19, 2013 from the Homewood Baptist Church. A private family graveside service will follow at the Homewood Methodist Cemetery. Rev Doyle Boyles officiated. Visitation was held from 5pm to 8pm Monday February 18, 2013 at OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest.
Mrs. Weems was born on December 11, 1929 in Merna, NE to Harvey B. Duncan and Pauline Vollmer Duncan. Later, her family relocated and she met and married Mr. Richard Weems. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She and her husband owned and operated Weems Cash & Carry Grocery store south of Forest until she retired in 1982. She was active in the community and enjoyed people. Mrs. Weems will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Richard T. Weems, two daughters; Judy A. Moore (George) of Forest, Rita C. Williams (John) of Madison; one sister Helen Gillespie of Oakdale, LA; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Hal Patterson, Trey Moore, Jeff Mitchell, Stephen Bell, Shelby M. Patterson and Jordan Maner. Honorary pallbearers were the men of Temple Baptist Church.
